Dear Members,

After much preparation, I’m stepping down as President of ASPM earlier than planned due to ongoing long Covid symptoms. Dr Naomi Rutten will now lead ASPM, with Shane Daniell joining as Treasurer.

It’s been an honour to serve over the past eight years—as Education Chair, then President. I've been privileged to work alongside compassionate GPs dedicated to whole person care, even when the system makes that hard. Together, we've grown ASPM’s membership, strengthened governance, built high-quality education, and fostered a generous, collaborative culture.

Warmly,

Dr Johanna Lynch

Message from President-Elect, Dr Naomi Rutten

I’m Naomi Rutten, honoured to step into the role of ASPM President. As a GP and psychotherapist, my focus has been on healing and preventing developmental and complex trauma, now extending to complex behaviour disorders.

After three years on the ASPM Board, I’ve come to deeply value the wisdom within this community. I sincerely thank Dr Johanna Lynch for her outstanding leadership and look forward to building on our strong foundation of connection, education, and advocacy.
