Overview:
These practical, GP-focused workshop introduces a clear and clinically relevant approach to identifying and managing eating disorders in primary care. Grounded in psychological and trauma-informed principles, this session explores how eating disorders present across different populations and why they are often missed or misdiagnosed.
Participants will build confidence in conducting comprehensive assessments, recognising key clinical patterns, and responding appropriately to positive screening results. The modules also outline the GP’s critical role in ongoing care, including medical monitoring, therapeutic engagement, and gaining a broader understanding of the different types of eating disorder therapies available and how to match them for your different patients in a general practice setting.
Designed for busy clinicians, this session emphasises real-world skills, non-judgmental communication, and strategies to support early intervention and improved patient outcomes.
