Module 1 overview:

This practical, GP-focused module introduces a clear and clinically relevant approach to identifying and managing eating disorders in primary care. Grounded in psychological and trauma-informed principles, the session explores how eating disorders present across different populations and why they are often missed or misdiagnosed.

Participants will build confidence in conducting comprehensive assessments, recognising key clinical patterns, and responding appropriately to positive screening results. The module also outlines the GP’s critical role in ongoing care, including medical monitoring, therapeutic engagement, and applying the SSCM framework within a general practice setting.

Designed for busy clinicians, this session emphasises real-world skills, non-judgmental communication, and strategies to support early intervention and improved patient outcomes.
